Super-Consistent Jayne

There is no more consistent competitor in the End to End Walk than Jayne Farquhar.

Jayne is someone who epitomises everything that is good about the sport of athletics, she is also a member of the event organising committee.

She completed the full distance for the first time in 2009 in a time of just under 10 hours, which she steadily improved on her next two attempts.

In 2015, in her first finish for three years, she set a huge personal best of 7:49:26, and since then her results have been metronomic in their consistency.

Super-Consistent

Five of her last seven finishes have been within two minutes of each other – absolutely remarkable consistency over a distance of nearly 40 miles.

Her best time of 7:43:52 was set in 2019, and she had a bit of an ‘off’ year in 2022 when she was struggling with injury.

Jayne’s last seven finishes have seen her placing second in the women’s race three times, with a further three third places.

Add that to her Parish Walk performances and all her many achievements in other events, and it is clear what a pivotal and very popular figure Jayne has been on the race walking scene for many years.

I’m sure there is lots more to come!
