Darcey Sutton has earned her place at this summer’s British Youth Championships following two performances at consecutive British Eventing fixtures.
At the Osburton International in the BE90 Under 18 section, Sutton recovered from a challenging opening in the dressage to deliver a composed double clear in both the show jumping and cross‑country phases.
The technical nature of the course caught out many combinations, and although a time penalty pushed her down the order, she still secured a respectable 15th place.
A week later, Sutton returned to competition with renewed confidence at Bishop Burton. A strong dressage score of 32, followed by just one pole in the show jumping, set her up well heading into the cross country.
She produced a fast, accurate clear round inside the time, earning a superb second‑place finish; her best result to date at this level.
These consistent performances mean Sutton has now qualified for the British Youth Championships, which will also be held at Bishop Burton in July.
