Motorists are being advised to plan ahead as carriageway repairs are set to take place on the Switchback from today.
The Department of Infrastructure team will begin work at 9.30am, carrying out a series of repairs to improve the condition and safety of the road.
While the works are underway, Switchback Road will be closed to through traffic.
Switchback Closed
A temporary traffic order has been put in place, allowing the closure to remain in effect 24 hours a day for up to one week.
Where possible, the road will be reopened outside of working hours; however, this may not always be feasible.
Any out-of-hours closures will be implemented strictly on safety grounds, and road users are urged to adhere to all signage and restrictions in place during this period.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for their journeys and use alternative routes where possible while the repairs are carried out.
