Team Wins For Pony Club

Isle of Man Pony Club members travelled to Myerscough College in Lancashire on Saturday for the Area 4 Show Jumping Qualifier.

The riders returned with a mix of wins, placings and valuable first time experience.

For many of the young riders it was their first Area trip, but the squad settled in well and spent the day supporting one another across the classes.

The travelling group included Hannah Wylie, Emilia Lace, Lily Roberts, Breesha Byers, Sienna Curphey, Grace Qualliam, Lexi Looney, Alice Teare, Eve McGeown, Emily Corrin, Eleanor Pritchard, Tayla Griffin, Emilie Emilie Saabye Katkjaer, Annabelle Byers, Isla Caine and Amelia Hotchkiss, with Amelia Corrin helping from the sidelines. Hattie Pepper was unable to compete after travel delays.

Wins For Manx Riders

Amelia Hotchkiss produced a polished round on King of Quality to win the Pony Club 110cm individual.

There was further success in the PC100, where the Isle of Man Cregneash team of Annabelle Byers, Isla Caine, Tayla Griffin and Amelia Hotchkiss took the team win.

The Castletown PC90 team, Eve McGeown, Annabelle Byers, Alice Teare and Tayla Griffin, finished fourth, while Ballawhetstone placed sixth in the same section.

In the PC80, the Port Erin team of Breesha Byers, Sienna Curphey and Grace Quilliam delivered steady performances, with Grace finishing ninth individually.

The Douglas PC70 team of Sienna Curphey, Grace Quilliam and Lexie Looney came fifth.

Organisers thanked parents and helpers for their support, with a special mention for Hazel Bailey, Jenny Pepper and Sharon Blackley for coordinating entries, hoodies and stabling.

The next Area competition is the eventing qualifier on Sunday, July 5.
