British tech tycoon Mike Lynch is missing and at least one person is dead after a yacht sank in Italian waters.
The Bayesian sank early this morning near Sicily.
Sky News reported Mr Lynch was said to be one of the people on board and has been reported as missing.
It said: “Divers, a motorboat and a helicopter from Catania, one of Sicily’s bigger cities, have been deployed to look for the six missing people above the surface of the sea.
Cave divers are arriving from Napoli, as well as Cagliari and Sassari in Sardinia, to help with the search of the shipwreck, which is now estimated to be about 50m under water, according to the fire service.”
The yacht’s registered owner is Revtom Ltd, which has its registered office on North Quay, Douglas.
