A jury has found a 16-year-old guilty of the murder of Christopher McBurnie.
The jury returned the verdict today (October 23) after about six and a half hours of deliberation.
Christoper died after sustaining injuries after being stabbed in Ramsey on May 29 last year. He was 14.
The defendant, now 16, pleaded not guilty to a murder charge. He has not been named for legal reasons.
Towards the end of the four-week trial, the jury was told it could consider an alternative verdict of manslaughter.
The 16-year-old had admitted inflicting the fatal wound but claimed he had acted in self-defence.
The trial heard harrowing evidence from teenagers and viewed mobile phone footage and social media messages from the build-up to the tragic events of last year were read out.
On Thursday (October 22), the jury was sent out to begin its deliberations after hearing a summing up of the evidence from Deemster Graeme Cook, who also issued directions to jurors on how to reach a conclusion.
