The Chief Minister has been asked for detailed information on the island’s planned Border Agency.
It follows a written question from Juan Watterson MHK which covers departmental responsibility, governance, budget and performance measures.
Watterson’s written question follows the government’s June 17 media release announcing the creation of a new Border Agency and an interim Border Division.
He is seeking clarity on which Department will host the Division, how that Department was or will be selected, and which Department will act as the sponsoring body for the full Agency.

He has also asked for the governance arrangements between the Agency and its sponsoring Department, and a breakdown of the £1.2 million budget identified so far, including whether any additional headcount is planned.
Further questions focus on how the organisational change is being managed, who is overseeing the transition, and how government intends to measure success once the new structure is in place.
Watterson is also asking what new performance measures will be introduced and how these will differ from those already used in border‑related operations.
The Chief Minister is due to respond by July 21.
