Tell us Your Views on Hotel Plan, say Commissioners

Peel Commissioners want residents to send in their views about a proposal to develop a boutique hotel on East Quay.

The local authority discussed the application by Lanz Limited at its public meeting – but opted to defer a decision until it had spoken to the applicant and heard from residents.

In addition to the 21-bedroom hotel, plans for the site also include nine apartments and the redevelopment of the Castle Street Gardens.

Vice-Chair Sharon Lambert says the board would support the plans because it would develop a brownfield site, but “not at any price”. The commissioners want to hear views of residents, particularly in terms of the size of the proposed development.
