The final pre-dawn delivery has been made by Cooil’s Dairy, concluding a service to households that spanned decades.
As of tomorrow, all milk produced by Cooils Dairy will be supplied to the Isle of Man Creamery.
In an emotional farewell message to customers, owners Juan and Kirstie expressed profound gratitude.
“Thank you thank you thank you! It just doesn’t seem enough to just say thank you,” they wrote.
The dairy highlighted remarkable customer loyalty, noting “quite a few were over 50 years and a couple over 60 years!”
They also reflected on an eventful history, saying: “We have made so many friends over the years, saved lives, moved furniture round and even caught criminals in the act!”
The owners paid tribute to their team, saying, “It wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing dedicated team of Mark, Lorna and Brian who came through to the end with us.”
They also noted the unprecedented challenge of the pandemic, during which they took on over 400 additional customers.
“It may be a sad day for many of you but that just shows us how much you valued the service and the products.
“We would like to think that nobody was ever let down and will remember that we delivered in all weather, the most memorable was delivering with tractor and trailer during the heavy snow of 1994.”
