Castletown’s new giant heron statue has landed in the town’s harbour.
Artists Darren Jackson and Steph Quayle created the statue that will look out to see from the inner harbour.
The project including preparatory work and delivery to site has been wholly funded by the Creative Network, a local non profit organisation with the artwork being gifted to the town.
Castletown Town Commissioners said that the final costs to the ratepayers will be “no more than £2,000 including a seven year licence fee on harbours land”.
- Let me just say, don’t do it, ok don’t do it, but I do wonder how long it will be until it gets a cone hat
