Tynwald may be set to debate the findings of a Standards Committee report that proposes the censure of Kate Lord-Brennan MHK,
Chris Thomas MHK tabled an urgent Tynwald motion aiming to force the Standards Committee’s proposal to censure Kate Lord Brennan to be debated before the July sitting concludes.
He said the matter has become one of “significant public interest”, touching on freedom of speech and how Tynwald oversees conduct on social media.
Thomas argued the issue should not be left unresolved over the summer recess and the upcoming general election, and urged that members be given the chance to address it this week.
Members have started to debate the motion that would force a debate on the Standards Committee’s report but have now adjourned for lunch.
