Town Calls on Public to Bring Art to the Streets

Ramsey Town Commissioners is appealing to property owners in the town centre to get involved in an new public art project.

The project aims to brighten up our streets and celebrate Manx culture, heritage, and nature.

As part of the initiative, local artists have been commissioned to create murals on large marine plywood boards measuring 2.4m x 1.2m.

These artworks, which have been carefully reviewed and approved, are currently being varnished and prepared for installation on external walls around the town.

Help Needed

The commissioners are asking property owners in Ramsey to kindly grant permission for one or two of these vibrant mural boards to be installed—completely free of charge—on suitable walls around the high street.

These installations are temporary, non-damaging, and intended to enhance the shared public spaces with colour, creativity, and pride in Ramsey’s local identity.

The murals will be especially meaningful for those in the community who may not be able to access galleries or exhibitions.

If you’re a property owner willing to support this initiative, please get in touch and provide written permission for a board or two to be installed.

Once permission is received, Lamara Craine and Ramsey Town Commissioners will take care of the rest.
