Two Island Callouts For GNAAS

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) responded to two incidents on the island over the weekend, including a fall near Glenfaba on Sunday morning.

A UK‑based critical care team was dispatched at 10.23am and landed at 10.58am, joining the island’s TT critical care team, who had already reached the scene.

The patient was treated and airlifted to a UK hospital for further care.

Across the weekend, GNAAS attended 11 incidents in the North East, three in Cumbria, two on the Isle of Man, two in Northumberland, and one in Yorkshire.

The charity has also launched its Written in the Sky initiative, allowing supporters to add a name to one of its new helicopters.
