Thirteen people were identified entering or attempting to enter the island without valid immigration permission between January 2025 and early 2026.
In response to a Freedom of Information request, Treasury said that eight individuals arrived via the Steam Packet, while the arrival method for five others was “unknown.”
Six departed from Heysham and two from Liverpool.
Nationalities of those identified included Bangladeshi, Chinese, Ghanaian, Indian, Pakistani and Polish individuals.
Their statuses were listed as asylum seeker, overstayer, “cancelled via” or having “no permission”.

All 13 cases were reported to the UK Home Office and actions taken included four refusals of entry, two enforced removals and seven voluntary departures.
The Treasury said it could not provide all requested data, stating a “practical refusal reason applies” for some details as the information isn’t held.
It also withheld some nationality figures, citing an absolute exemption under the Act as the data is “personal information” which could identify individuals “when it is combined with other data”.
Associated costs were provided for only three cases, totalling over £29,000, while ten cases had “no associated costs.”
