Tynwald has approved a select committee of three members to consider and to report on a petition on redress brought forward on Tynwald Day.
The Dyslexia Advocacy Group IOM says it is a “significant triumph in the continuous effort to enhance support for individuals with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and dyspraxia”.
The Select Committee is tasked with:
- Examining the incidence of dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and dyspraxia in the Isle of Man.
- Assessing the current educational provisions and their alignment with the Equality Act (2017).
- Reviewing potential solutions to improve support as documented in the petition for redress
- Delivering a comprehensive report by April 2025.
With the committee set to gather public evidence, the Dyslexia Advocacy Group IOM urges those affected to share their experiences.
