An updated energy strategy outlining the island’s pathway to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 will go to Tynwald this week.
The document details “progress” made over the past 12 months, with key areas including:
- Offshore Energy: Significant strides in offshore energy legislation, including advancing the legal framework to support future wind energy projects.
- Technology Roadmap: Extensive work to define a clear technology roadmap to reach net-zero, ensuring targets are achievable.
- Home Energy Scheme: The development of a new retrofit scheme, which aims to deliver significant benefits for people by reducing bills and carbon emissions.
Energy Strategy
Clare Barber MHK, Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture, said: “The updated Energy Strategy reaffirms our commitment to building a sustainable, secure, and affordable energy future for people in the Isle of Man.
