Vagabonds Ladies team is “buzzing” to get their league season off to a flyer this weekend against Leigh Ladies.
The side will play in Women’s NC 2 North (South) League this season.
In the team’s pre-match report, they offered some clues as just how much of a punch this side is packing this season,.
“This year, we’re bringing a serious lineup:
– Becka Hicks takes on the role of vice-captain, offering leadership and grit.
– We’re thrilled to have three Cheshire County players in our ranks: Leona McGovern (captain), Sophie Henry, and Maylyn Campbell.
– The scrum is set to dominate with Maisie, Ella, and Lois in the front row, backed by Becka and Georgie in the second, and a dynamic back row featuring Kyla at 6 and Maylyn holding strong at 8.
– Lauren Ellison makes her much-anticipated return at 10, after welcoming her lovely daughter!
– In the backs, watch out for Bliss, our speedy star, paired with the ever-strong and dymamic Holly Scott“
It added: “Leigh and Vagabonds have a history of strong season openers, and the last time we met, we secured a firm win. After a challenging season last year, working on team dynamics and integrating new talent, we’re back, stronger than ever!
“We have multiple new players debuting this weekend, and we can’t wait for you to see them in action! Coaches Jack and Cat have worked us hard during pre-season with intense fitness routines and new plays that will keep the opposition guessing.”
We try to maintain some resemblance of impartiality, but since they are the island’s only women’s team playing against English opposition, come on Vegas!!
