The Ronaldsway Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping.
The areas likely to be affected are Castletown promenades, Shore Road (Rushen) and the northern end of Douglas promenade.
The warning will come into place at 8:30pm this evening and will stay in place until 11am tomorrow (December 4) morning.
Coastal Overtopping
Fresh to strong southerly winds accompanied with large high tides later this evening and early tonight will lead to slight coastal overtopping of water and minor debris around the hours of high tide (8:30pm to 11pm).
This will affect Castletown promenades, Shore Road (Rushen) and the northern end of Douglas promenade.
Strong winds for the following high tide tomorrow morning will again bring a risk of slight coastal overtopping of water and minor debris around the hours of high tide (8:30am to 11am).
The winds will start a south or south-easterly at the very beginning of the period but soon swing around to the southwest.
This will mean the main areas affected will be: Castletown promenades and Shore Road (Rushen), with possibly the northern end of Douglas promenade being affected at first before the winds swing around.
