Volunteer crews from Douglas and Port St Mary went to the aid of a small boat off the coast of Port Grenaugh.
Douglas volunteers launched at 1:24pm, with Port St Mary launching shortly after at 1:31pm after a 999 call.
Steam Packet vessel Manannan also attended the scene while en route to the island from Dublin after responding to the Pan-pan call.
A company spokesman confirmed the vessel was stood down once the RNLI arrived at the scene before continuing its journey to Douglas.
The two boats secured the small vessel, the Lady P, with the Port St Mary Trent-class all weather lifeboat towing the boat to Douglas harbour.
