Bus Vannin has issued a stark reminder that abuse of staff “will not be tolerated”.
This follows a recent court case where a passenger admitted common assault and threatening behaviour for spitting at and abusing a driver.
The transport operator stated the behaviour is “completely unacceptable,” affirming drivers’ rights to work without fear.
“Our drivers work hard every day to provide a safe and reliable service for the community,” a spokesperson said.
Bus Vannin welcomed the court’s action, saying: “We are grateful to the courts for treating this incident with the seriousness it deserves.”
It vowed to continue supporting staff who report incidents.
“Bus Vannin will always support its employees in reporting abusive behaviour.”
