The government says it will issue advice and guidance ahead of Friday’s storm tomorrow.
Storm Éowyn is due to hit the island on Friday, with gusts of up to 80mph forecast.
With the likely disruption this will cause parents, kids and certain teachers (you know who you are) are keen to know what will happen with the schools.
Tonight, the government said: “As more detailed weather forecasting becomes available on Thursday, the risks to the public will be assessed, with additional advice and guidance provided.
“This will include, where appropriate, details of any expected impact on public transport, schools, travel and public services such as hospital appointments.”
Storm
Gusts could reach as high as 80 mph on Friday morning between 8am and 1pm, with coastal overtopping likely between 5:30am and 9am.
The government said: “The public and businesses are advised to prepare ahead of the storm, which has the potential to be more severe than December’s Storm Darragh.
“Private and commercial properties as well as construction sites should be secured in good time. This includes outdoor items such as play equipment, garden furniture, scaffolding, temporary fencing, bins and storage boxes.”
