Woman Aims to do Non-Stop Swim to Island

A woman from England plans to swim continuously from England to the Isle of Man.

In 2011, a nine person relay swam the stretch in 31 hours, however it is believed that no one has completed the challenge that Jemma Wolsencroft has set herself.

Two years ago, Adam Diver swam the stretch in a wetsuit but boarded the boat each time the tide was not in his favour; He arrived three days later.

Non-Stop Swim

Jemma says: “The record for an unassisted solo swim is still there for the taking.”

Her attempt will be without a wetsuit, continuous and unassisted and ratified by an observer.

The direction of the swim, start point, the date and the start time will be decided by a boat pilot at the last minute depending on sea conditions, wind and the tide.

She is raising money to fund the boat, ratification and medicals which will cost £5000.

Any money raised beyond the boat cost will be donated to Children With Leukemia.
