The island’s women’s team proved it’s not the size of the flag but the team playing for it that matters as they won their second game at the Island Games.
Wayne Lisy’s side beat Froya 6-0.
Holly Sumner scored the opener after just 7 minutes to set the Manx side on their way to three points.
With Froya reduced to 10 players for a handball, despite a missed penalty, the Manx women were quick to press home the advantage.
Goals from Chloe Teare, Milly Dawson and a Pippa Wllis penalty made it a 4-0 lead at the break.
Despite missing an early second half penalty, the Manx side continued to dominate and Holly Stephen made it five with 70 minutes on the clock.
Lisa Costain added a sixth late on in the 85th minute to put the cherry on the cake.
Our thanks to Paul Hatton for his updates and photos.
