Yellow Warning Issued

A yellow weather warning has been for the next 24 hours for further wintry showers/ ice.

Ronaldsway Met Office said it is for all of the island, but particularly over the hills.

It said: “Wintry showers (rain, sleet, snow and hail) will affect the island over the next 24 hours, varying throughout in frequency, intensity and spatial distribution.

“Generally the hills above about 500 feet will be where further accumulations of snow and hail occur (1-7cm), with always an ice risk on the higher parts.

“Lower down any accumulations will be small but coverings are possible anywhere (most likely with any overnight hail showers). Road temperatures lower down will mainly stay above zero, except where any accumulations do occur.”
