This seems a pointless weather forecast due to the hysteria across the island with the Storm Amy in full flow.
With that said, I shall write the 100th weather forecast on the storm – just to add the hysteria, duh.
I do have some good news (the others may not tell you this, because bad weather = good website figures), but this weekend isn’t all bad.
As you’re reading this you’ve probably just been woken up by your wheelie bin flying into your bedroom window and wanting a room of its own to shelter from the storm.
Or you’ve just heard your garden shed try to make love to the neighbours car (let’s hope the insurance covers that one).
Having experienced the above, you’re probably thinking “not all bad, Charlie? Really?”, I promise it isn’t!
Bad Forecast
Lets get the bad news that you already know out the way first:
Westerly winds will increase again through the early hours of this morning with gales or severe gales and gusts to 60mph.
The wind will then slowly decrease from late morning and into the afternoon.
Showers or longer spells of rain during the morning clearing to sunshine and isolated showers late morning.
Not All Bad
Largely cloudy and mainly dry on Sunday as the strong to gale force winds continue to decrease through the day.
Looking ahead to next week, it actually looks grand (for October and in the midst of storm season).
Monday will be cloudy with the risk of outbreaks of rain or drizzle at first, then becoming mainly dry.
The wind will be a mere breeze compared to Saturday’s gales, with SW 20-25, soon decreasing 15-20, increasing 20-25 again later.
Tuesday will be warm with highs of 16C, and although it’ll be cloudy it’ll be mostly dry – hurrah!
Wind will be a SW 20-25, soon increasing 25-30 with gusts of 35, veering W or NW 15-20 later.
All in all? Could be better, could be worse!
