12 Taxi Complaints Under Investigation

There have been 11 complaints made against taxi drivers so far this year, all of which remain under investigation by the Road Transport Licensing Committee (RTLC).

A single complaint from 2023 also remains under investigation.

An FoI request has revealed that of the 11 complaints made this year, seven are for alleged overcharging, with one of those also alleging the use of offensive language.

There are a further four complaints of alleged use of offensive language or actions by a driver and one of “alleged poor and unhelpful conduct”.

The RTLC also revealed that there were 12 complaints made in 2023, four in 2022 and two in 2021.

Other than those which have been investigated by the police, only one complaint since 2021 has seen a warning issued about future compliance with RTLC legislation.
