20 vehicles stopped as part of Operation Uplift

Isle of Man Roads Policing Unit

Police dealt with 20 vehicles as part of Operation Uplift last night (March 12).

Officers carried out checks at the Grandstand, Battery Pier, Shaws Brow Car Park, Chester Street Car Park and The Tongue.

One vehicle was seized for being un-roadworthy and for containing red diesel.

They also issued five vehicle defect notices, and two endorsable fixed penalties for more serious tyre offences.

Operation Uplift is a multi-agency operation, involving officers from the roads policing unit, community policing teams, road safety team, Customs and the vehicle testing centre.
