The Department of Infrastructure is holding 69 reports and draft plans relating to the long‑awaited rebuild of Castle Rushen High School.
Responding to a question from Rushen MHK Dr Michelle Haywood, Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall MHK said the documents span 2017 to 2026 and include feasibility studies, masterplans, surveys, structural reports, drainage assessments, business‑case material and monthly project updates.
However, the Department cannot provide cost information for any reports produced between 2017 and 2024, as these were commissioned by the Department of Education, Sport and Culture (DESC) rather than Infrastructure.
For reports produced from 2024 onwards, Crookall said they were prepared by project manager AtkinsRealis under its wider professional‑services contract. Because the work forms part of a bundled fee proposal, no individual report‑level costs can be attributed.
The Minister also confirmed that the Department cannot disclose AtkinsRealis’ overall project‑management fee, as the contract sits with DESC and the information is considered commercially sensitive until the scheme is complete.
The list of 69 documents includes feasibility reports, structural drawings, climate‑change assessments, procurement papers, stakeholder engagement material and multiple versions of the Castle Rushen masterplan.
