Plans have been submitted to build 85 houses on the former Buchan School campus in Castletown.
The application follows the school’s relocation to the King William’s College Campus.
The proposed development includes 21 affordable homes, representing 24.7% of the total, with a commuted sum to bring the overall contribution to 25%.
A new Urban Park is planned within the existing registered woodland, which the school previously used as an outdoor classroom.
A heritage assessment found that surviving Victorian-era structures have “been heavily altered over time and have lost most of their historical features”.
The conservation officer was “content that the building didn’t need to be retained.”
