Playing in a UK based league for any sport is plagued with difficulties when you are the team based on an Island as FC Isle of Man knows only too well.

So when FC Isle of Man, known as ‘the Ravens’ joined the English league system, they were very mindful that a huge amount of cost would be the travel to away games.

While many had doubts about the sustainability of the fledgling club, FC Isle of Man went on to earn promotion after the first full season (post covid).

Now in their second season in the North West Counties Football League Premier Division, the club is maturing and currently sitting mid table.

Today, The Ravens announced they have secured a new sponsorship agreement with Steam Packet Holidays (SPH).

The deal will take them through to the end of the 2025/2026 season.

The sponsorship agreement includes the SPH logo featured on the team’s away kit jerseys, promotions of SPH’s travel and accommodation packages to visiting teams, and branding showcased on FC IOM’s away online match reports and in programmes.

We’re thrilled and proud to be sponsoring FC Isle of Man for their upcoming seasons. As a business that values its Manx roots, we believe this partnership is an excellent way to support our local sporting community. The Ravens have demonstrated their commitment to the sport and the local community, and it is our pleasure to support them in return. The Ravens represent the Manx community’s ability to come together to support one another, and we are thrilled to sustain that spirit through this partnership

Brian Thomson, Steam Packet Managing Director

Mr Thomson added, ‘While this deal is first and foremost about supporting the Island’s sporting community, it is also very much about trying to help build the visitor economy and growing awareness of the island as a holiday destination. We’ve already seen the benefit of the Ravens’ participation in the NWCFL with travelling fans choosing to sail with us. Steam Packet Holidays is a perfect fit for trying to grow those numbers and add value to the local economy.’

Mutually Beneficial

FC Isle of Man’s Chair, Gillian Christian told Manx.News, “FC Isle of Man are very excited to agree this new sponsorship arrangement with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, which we feel will be mutually beneficial.

Visiting Fans

We have seen the number of visitors to the Isle of Man increase over the last two seasons, which has generated significant benefit to the Isle of Man community. We are therefore delighted to join forces with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company in supporting their “Steam Packet Holidays” packages for away fans to make their trip to the Isle of Man even more enjoyable and accessible.

Thank you to the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company for their support.”

The Ravens next game is on Saturday January 20th at the Bowl. The visitors are Kendal Town and kick off is at 6pm.
