Weather conditions put weekend sailings at risk

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company have issued an advanced warning that due to the current weather forecast this weekends sailings could be at risk of possible disruption cancellation.

Eight sailings from Saturday (January 20) morning to early hours on Monday (January 22) morning are currently the sailings that could be affected by the weather.

Looking at the current forecast, the wind will start to pick up on Saturday and be at its worst late on Sunday (January 21) night and into the early hours of Monday with gusts up to 68mph.

Sailings at risk

At present the Manxman sailing at risk are:

Saturday, January 20

  • 08:00am Douglas to Heysham
  • 2:00pm Heysham to Douglas

A final decision for the above will be made by the Master of the ship at 6:30am on Saturday.

  • 7:45pm Douglas to Heysham

A final decision for the above will be made by the Master of the ship at 5pm on Saturday.

Sunday, January 21

  • 3:00am Heysham to Douglas (January 21)

A final decision for the above will be made by the Master of the ship at 5pm on Saturday.

  • 8:00am Douglas to Heysham
  • 3:30pm Heysham to Douglas

A final decision for the above will be made by the Master of the ship at 6:30am on Sunday.

  • 8:30pm Douglas to Heysham

A final decision for the above will be made by the Master of the ship at 5:30pm on Sunday.

Monday, January 22

  • 1:20am Heysham to Douglas

A final decision for the above will be made by the Master of the ship at 5:30pm on Sunday.
