John Keggin and Jamie Stott, directors of Homestay IOM Limited, hope to “improve the overall experience” for visitors and guests, by using the knowledge they have gained from their sister company, Island Escapes.
Keggin and Stott, who have been running Island Escapes for over five years, said:
“In the time we’ve been running Island Escapes we have become very accustomed to expectations of property owners and guests alike, and we want to bring some of that experience into the Homestay Scheme to try and improve the experience for everybody.”
Homestay IOM Limited officially launched its website on February 1.

Visit Isle of Man appointed the new local firm to operate the scheme last month.
The Isle of Man Homestay Scheme provides Isle of Man households the opportunity to host paying visitors for the TT Races and Manx Grand Prix.
The new company will manage all aspects of the scheme including; registrations, property inspections, fire safety requirements and have plans to introduce an online booking facility.

For the signature TT Races, hosts could earn up to £2,350 tax free income by registering their property.
Hosts wishing to register for two years can do so for £80, equating to £40 per year.
