After day one of dressage, Yasmin Ingham and Banzai Du Loir are leading the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event, producing a stunning test to score 26.
There are several horses coming up in tomorrow’s (April 26) second day of dressage in the 5* competition that could challenge Yasmin and Banzai du Loir for the top spot going into cross country.
Speaking to Manx.News, Yasmin said: “It is such a treat to be back here and to be able to perform the dressage in the Rolex stadium.”
Kentucky Horse Trials
Yasmin said she is ‘very excited’ to tackle the cross country course in Lexington on Saturday, which was designed by Derek di Grazia.
She said the Kentucky course ‘is a true big 5* track’, with ‘questions the whole way through the course’.
Although the field is smaller than in previous years, the quality is still very high, with a number of the world’s top eventers taking part, including World Number One, British rider Oliver Townend.
Cross Country is scheduled to start at 1:30pm (EST) on Saturday (April 27), with a second trot up and reverse order show jumping on Sunday (April 28) afternoon.
This is the Manx woman’s third trip out to the United States of America with Banzai Du Loir, finishing second there in 2022.
