GNAAS fly to RTC scene in 32 minutes

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) took only 32 minutes to fly to the scene of a road traffic collision last week.

The air ambulance charity responded to reports of a road traffic collision near Corrany in the Isle of Man last week.

It took the doctor-led team 32 minutes to fly to the scene, where once there, the team got to work on treating the patient alongside Isle Of Man Ambulance Service.

Once the patient was stabilised, they were taken to hospital accompanied by the critical care team, where a handover took place.

At 5.22pm, pilot Phil refuelled the aircraft ready to make the journey back to Langwathby, where they landed 6.09pm.

To sustain the service on the Isle of Man, GNAAS needs continued support.

It relies entirely on donations and couldn’t continue its work without its supporters’ efforts.

It currently needs to raise approximately £8.5million a year to operate.

In order to continue responding during the night, the charity must have reliable cars, impeccable training, the best equipment, and ultimately, money.
