A report into the food served in the island’s schools is to be released after the education department changed its plans.
Minister Daphne Caine was asked for an update on the report by Manx Labour Party leader Joney Faragher (Douglas East).
Mrs Caine said she wrote to all members in July to say that as she had asked for more focused work to be carried out in this school year, the report would not be published at that time.
The focussed work was to look at asking parents and children about meal choices, reducing ultra-processed food, increasing the use of local produce and reducing food waste.
She added: “Since circulating this letter, the Department has had time to refocus the review and now feels it is appropriate to publish the review.
“The report is now being prepared for publication and will be published on the department’s website in due course.”
