Islanders are being warned not to fall for scam emails threatening to release details of websites people may have visited.
The Cyber Security Centre for the Isle of Man said the scammers are claiming they’ve hacked your computer and found evidence of you visiting adult websites.
Lately, some of these messages even include your home address and a Google Street View image, making them seem more credible.
It said: “Remember: this information is often pulled from data breaches and doesn’t mean they have any real evidence against you.”
If you receive one of these emails, mark it as junk, forward it to SERS (click here for more information about SERS) and delete it.
