Damage sustained by Peel Power station during Storm Éowyn is to be repaired starting this weekend.
During the storm, one of the flue caps on the station’s chimney was blown over.
Having assess the damage by drone, Manx Utilities said steeplejacks will climb up the tower to secure the damaged flue cap until a full repair can be arranged.
They will also check on any damage sustained by the other flues.
Manx Utilities said the repairs will be dependent on the weather over the weekend.
Sadly the steeplejacks will access the area via an internal ladder in the stack, so there won’t be any Fred Dibnah style ascension.
