Several yellow barriers set out for this year’s TT appear to have been taken, Highways Services has said.
The equipment, part of ongoing preparations for the races, was removed from sites in Douglas and another location in the west without permission.
Contractors for DoI and TT organisers are currently delivering essential safety gear around the Snaefell Mountain Course and Billown Circuit, including barriers, marshal equipment, and road closure signs.
The work is being carried out over several weeks, with items left in position for future use.
Warning
A spokesperson warned: “It is imperative that all race equipment remains undisturbed at its designated locations. Any further removal of equipment will be reported to the police for investigation.
“Where evidence of crime is found, the Department will support formal action.”
Replacing missing or damaged barriers incurs significant costs, both in materials and staff time.
The spokesperson stressed: “The event can only proceed if all safety equipment is available and correctly positioned.”
Authorities have urged the public to respect the equipment, which is vital for rider and spectator safety.
