Police have arrested two individuals in connection with alleged theft from the Victory Café, following an outpouring of public support.
The Isle of Man Constabulary’s Roads Policing Unit tracked a getaway vehicle and anticipated the suspects’ movements.
A spokesperson said: “We identified a getaway vehicle and skillfully predicted the destination of the… tram.”
The two suspects were later detained, with officers confirming: “Two people are now under arrest, wearing the items that we believe to have been taken.”
Authorities praised the community’s response, stating: “The social media response has made it very clear that TT fans don’t condone that sort of behaviour and we extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who assisted today.
“Their actions were not acceptable, and between the TT fans and the Isle of Man Constabulary, we’ve made that message extremely clear.”
