Billy Harris won in staight sets to advance into the semi finals at the Guangzhou Huangpu International Tennis Open.
The world 136 went into the tournament in China fresh off the back of winning the 2025 Cassis Open Provence in France.
He made quick work of Belgian Gauthier Onclin in the first set, winning 6-2 before a tighter second set.
Tight Second Set
After both players held their serves in the opening games, Harris broke Onclin in the fifth to take the advantage.
However, Harris then stuttered on his service game and Onclin broke back to make it 3-3 before making it 3-4.
With Harris firing back to make it 4-4, the pair both held their serves to make it 6-5 before Harris’ saved two set points to draw level and force a tie break.
In the tie break, it proved equally tight before Harris stole a march and won 8-6 to book his place in the semis 6-2, 7-6.
Semis
He could face former British number one Dan Evans in the semi final if the Brit can get past Argentinian Juan Manuel Cerundolo.
That semi final will be played tomorrow.
