The government has announced a support session for benefit and pension recipients still using the MiCard system, following a government reversal on its planned discontinuation.
Representatives from HSBC, Lloyds Bank International, Barclays Bank, and Isle of Man Bank will be present at the session alongside Social Security officers.
The MiCard will now continue for those unable to access banking services, with new cards to be issued for the new year.
However, individuals who can switch to bank payments are strongly encouraged to do so before their current card becomes inactive.

A spokesperson said, “The team is, however, aware that this may present problems for some recipients and has arranged support for those requiring assistance and who want to open an account.”
The event will be held at the Social Security office at Markwell House, Market Street, Douglas, on Wednesday November 26 from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Attendees should bring photographic ID, proof of address, and their National Insurance number. Appointments can be made by calling 685656 or emailing socialsecurity@gov.im, though drop-ins are also welcome.
MiCard users with a bank account must return their completed ACT1 form by 1 December to ensure payments continue.
