Sheep Mauled in Repeat Dog Attack

A Maughold farmer has issued a desperate appeal for information after sheep were mauled in what she says is the latest in a series of dog attacks on her flock.

Aalish Crowe said the incident happened yesterday (March 14) and mirrors attacks that took place “at exactly the same time last year”, including during lambing season.

She described the situation as “heartbreaking and destroying”, saying the emotional and financial toll is becoming unbearable.

Crowe said she has contacted police “on many occasions” but feels no progress is being made.

Dog Attacks

She added that the most disturbing element is the likelihood that a dog is returning home “covered in blood” after attacking livestock, yet its owner has not come forward.

The aftermath, she said, is devastating. Some sheep have been found lying in pools of blood, and others have had to be put down to end their suffering.

One sheep remains missing, and the family is asking anyone with a drone, or anyone who has seen a stray or injured sheep, to get in touch.

She also urged residents to consider whether their own dog may have returned home with unexplained blood on its coat.

“This has to end now,” she said.

The incident happened in the Maughold area, and anyone with information is urged to contact the family or police.
