Local archers Will and Julie Corteen of Manx club Bowderyn Vannin delivered a strong showing on the UK field archery circuit last weekend.
They were competing at the two‑day Cumbria Challenge in contrasting conditions across Penrith and Pennington.
The pair shot in the Traditional Bow Hunter class, facing a demanding mix of terrain and weather alongside competitors from across the British Isles.
Saturday (June 20) in Penrith brought very windy conditions on a sprawling 40‑target 3D course, with exposed shots proving particularly challenging.
Conditions flipped on Sunday (June 21) in Pennington, where archers enjoyed calm weather on a 36‑target technical glen course, offering a classic field‑archery feel.
At the final tally, Julie Corteen secured 3rd place in the Ladies’ Traditional Bow Hunter category, while Will Corteen finished 10th in the Men’s Traditional Bow Hunter field.
