Isle of Man Post Office is adding two new postal counters in Onchan following the impending closure of the village post office.
Costcutter, Birch Hill Stores will take on services from August 4, starting with 9am–5pm hours before moving to full store opening times seven days a week.
Shop Local IOM, Ballachrink Stores will follow on September 1, also beginning with daytime hours and later extending to full opening times.
IOMPO said the two new hosts will give customers more choice and better access to postal services in the area.
Chairman Stu Peters MHK said working with local retailers “continues to play an important role in how we deliver postal services across the island.”
The same procurement round sought partners for Foxdale and Jurby, but no expressions of interest were received.
Residents there will continue using existing arrangements, including Peel for Foxdale and Ballaugh for Jurby, with Foxdale retaining a self‑service kiosk at the EVF Petrol Station.
