Street Lighting and Speeding Vehicles Are Marown Concerns

Ahead of a commissioners’ by-election on Thursday, Marown residents say issues they would like resolved are poor street lighting, vehicles speeding dealt with and the re-opening of the public toilet.

At a requisition meeting held last night (Monday), they were able to meet the two candidates for the vacancy on Marown Commssioners, Amanda Collister and Oksana Hargreaves, and ask questions.

Residents will be able to vote from 8am to 8pm on 8 October at Crosby Methodist Church Hall on Old Church Road.

Chair of the commissioners Alison Lynch says she was pleased with the number of people who attended the meeting to meet the candidates:

There were about 55 people in attendance, and the meeting was led by the Captain of the Parish of German Alan Corlett.

Residents also shared concerns about issues with road surfaces and the lack of crossing points on the main road.
