The English Schools Fell Championships took place at Sedbergh on Sunday in perfect fell-running conditions, with overcast skies and a dry course.
The Isle of Man Schools were represented by just two competitors this year, with both producing outstanding performances.
Making her fell-running debut, Year 7 pupil Emira Bowden competed over a 3.5km course featuring 185m of elevation.
Out of 91 starters, Emira finished an exceptional 14th overall in the girls’ race, recording a time of 16:41 and placing 14th out of 39 girls.
Maisy-Jo Faragher competed in the Year 8/9 race, tackling a tougher 4.9km course with 305m of elevation.
Of the 144 students who started, 61 were girls, and Maisy-Jo produced an excellent 14th-place finish, winning the Year 8 girls’ category in a time of 29:44.
Both Isle of Man runners can be hugely proud of their performances against some of the best young fell runners in England.
