Ramsey Commissioners are holding drop-in sessions for residents who may be interested in taking on a volunteer role in the town.
There are two sessions taking place at the town hall. The first is October 31 and the second on November 21.
Both will run from 10am until midday.
Lead Member for Parks Margaret Webb said volunteers would assist with “maintaining and monitoring” areas such as local gardens and other community areas.
Board members and the commissioners’ clerk will be there to answer questions, and they will have a register for people to join if they wish.
Community Volunteers
Webb added: “Having observed successful volunteer schemes elsewhere and following suggestions by local members of the public, we are excited to launch this scheme.
She said that “by utilising local community volunteers who would assist in the maintaining and monitoring of areas such as local gardens and other community areas” it would help to bring about improvements.
She added: “This supports our employed workforce to focus on those areas requiring greater upkeep and specialist attention, enhancing the great service they already provide.
“We really look forward to hearing from people to find out what they can bring in terms of experience, skills, knowledge and enthusiasm!”
