Foster carers from across the Isle of Man have been recognised for their dedication at a special celebration event held at The Roundhouse.
The gathering, part of Foster Care Fortnight, brought together carers, families and supporters to acknowledge the vital role foster carers play in providing safe and nurturing homes for children and young people.
Organisers highlighted the compassion, resilience and long‑term commitment shown by carers across the island.
The event was supported by sponsors Atla Group and The Comis Hotel, with additional prizes donated by Sure, Steam Packet, Brightlife, Soaral, Claremont and Self Care Club.
Guests also heard from Isle Listen, Isle of Play and Soul and Soil, whose talks and activities focused on emotional wellbeing, creativity and the importance of strong support networks.
Foster Care
A series of awards recognised contributions across the fostering community, including long‑service milestones, advocacy, kinship care, resilience, sibling support and the role of children who help welcome new arrivals into their homes.
Prizes were presented by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, Sir John Lorimer, Manx Care CEO Teresa Cope, and Assistant Director for Social Care Julie Gibney.
Teresa Cope said: “Foster carers across our island do an extraordinary job, often going above and beyond to provide stability, care and understanding to children and young people who need it most.
“This celebration evening was about recognising that dedication and saying a heartfelt thank you for the vital role they play in our community. Congratulations to all our worthy winners.”
The day concluded with an informal gathering, giving carers time to connect, share experiences and celebrate the relationships at the heart of fostering.
