Union Mills threw a massive spanner, as well as most of the toolbox, into Corinthian’s title hopes with a thrilling 4-3 win at Garey Mooar on Saturday.
Upfront Footy’s Dean Turton described it as “a game of two halves, with The Millers taking control early before holding on under late pressure to take all three points”.
Leading 3-0 at the break through a Dominic McHarrie-Brennan brace and one from Jack Murray, the Millers led 3-0 at the break before the White came back into it in the second half.
Connor Clark’s goal gave the Ballafletcher side hope but Murray’s second made it 4-1 and left the visitors with a mountain to climb.
Despite Clark getting his second and Chester Bell scoring off the bench, Corinthians were unable to turn it around.

In the one cup game to be played, Foxdale progressed at the expense of Governor’s Athletic, winning 1-5 at Noble’s Park.
Going Down
Marown inched closed to the drop on Saturday as they were beaten 1-3 at home by Onchan thanks to goals from Billy Coulter, Tom O’Neill and Patrick Reilly.
That win leaves Onchan a point and a place above St Georges, who lost 2-1 at Rushen, but Geordies do have a game in hand.
Elsewhere in the top flight St Mary’s beat Ayre 4-1 and Laxey won 2-5 at St John’s.
Going Up
It’s advantage RYCOB in the Division 2 promotion battle as they beat Castletown 4-0 to go second as Old Boys run of iffy form continued.
The Blackberry Lane side drew 2-2 at Colby to leave them in third, two points behind RYCOB but with a game in hand.
Elsewhere Braddan thumped Michael 1-10 at Lough Ny Magher and Douglas Royal beat D&D 2-5.
Pulrose were given a walkover win as Malew were unable to field a side.
