A closed road arrest, more drink and drug driving offences, and a serious Mountain Road RTC have prompted fresh TT safety warnings from police.
The Isle of Man Constabulary has issued fresh safety reminders after another arrest was made yesterday when a vehicle entered a closed road before the Roads Open Car had passed.
Officers say the message remains simple: do not enter a closed road under any circumstances.
Police also confirmed more drink and drug driving arrests yesterday. With good weather and everyone enjoying the island, officers say they want people to make the most of TT, but not at the expense of safety.
Driving under the influence “puts lives at risk and has real consequences”, particularly as the island continues its normal daily routines during the festival.
Stay Within Your Limits
Emergency services also responded to a serious single‑rider RTC on the Mountain Road yesterday afternoon.
The investigation and required work on the road surface caused delays to the session.
Police are reminding riders to stay within their limits, noting that poor decisions can affect not only their own safety but also the running of racing and the workload of partner agencies.
The Constabulary is working with Merseyside Police and Lancashire Police to share safety advice with visitors travelling from Liverpool and Heysham.
UK officers are also using their social media channels to remind people to secure bikes and belongings before travelling and to provide guidance for riders heading to the TT.
